The Grand wedding and the Eternal union!

The plan:

 He gave gifts to men…

LOVE is the mandate;

The goal is the union between two lovers – the bride and the Groom! Christ and the church. Christ gave gifts to men so that the church (His bride) would be built up in preparation for an eternal union, a marriage.

Oh what a beautiful bride

Isn’t she lovely?! She is without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, she is holy!

0h but hang on! She looks different, has she always looked like that? What a mysterious thing! The law meets grace, the new and the old covenant culminate, and it is just beautiful! Christ did not come to do away with the law but to fulfil it.

Rev 21:11-14

…Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper. It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The Eternal union

 Rev 21:3

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

 God hates divorce and this union is eternal. Malachi 2:16

 Ephesians 5:13

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
