Yes, they are a handful.
Yes, they are demanding.
Yes, they are mostly loud.
Yes, they spoil your stuff.
Yes, they do leave your bank account depleted.
Yes, they do stuff they are not supposed to do.
They talk when they should be quiet.
Forget when they should have remembered.
Yet, when they stare at us with those huge eyes, and they wait on
us to accept them in the same way they accept us, unconditionally.
The only thing we can do is love them, in spite of the weight of the
responsibility, or the hostility about you, or the injustices of
the system. In spite of pain or heartbreak, you still love.In your heart of hearts, you know this child in your arms is worth the pain.
In spite it all, you love.
