The Good Shepherd

Dear Lord

Teach me

I am but a sheep

In dire need of guidance and protection

I stray a lot

But I must follow

The good shepherd

Whatever path He takes

As He leads me in the paths of righteousness

Leading me to the still waters

To the green pastures

Where my soul is restored and satisfied

I must learn from Him

There is no other way that I will survive

He is the way back home

I accept

His terms and His conditions

I am but a sheep

In dire need of a savior

He promises to teach me

“Come, learn from Me for I am humble in spirit

And you will find rest for your soul.”

A relationship, where I am loved and taught

So I must be willing to humble myself

And learn from Him

His ways and His will

I come in His terms

Because He bought me form a life of bondage

He died for me

So that I could be set free

So like Mary

I choose to sit at His feet

And learn from Him

Because she chose

Something more valuable than gold or silver

It could not be taken away from her

She chose to learn from the Master Himself

That same Master is my shepherd

My good shepherd
