Made to shine

Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Isaiah 60:1 (ESV)
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

A lamp, is only useful if it lights up the room, Jesus is the light of the world, In order for us to fulfil our Purpose, we need Jesus for indeed we were made to shine and to reflect His glory and love.

A lamp deserted

No light in sight

No lamp to set up upon a hill

For men to see, and dwell in darkness  no more

I am a lamp in God’s hands, I was made to shine

So that  men may see His light and give Him the glory

Jesus, the light of the world

Light up my soul, light up

By God’s grace, light up

The light has been provided

Oil is flowing from heaven

Arise my soul and shine

Reflect the glory of the Almighty God

My Father and my God

Whom the heavens adore and the earth worship

Light my lamp up dear Lord Jesus

My Father and my God

I was made to shine for You

So that men may see You and give You the glory

I was made to shine for You

Arise my soul and shine

Proverbs 20:27

The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the innermost parts of his being.

Luke 11:33-36 (NASB)

“No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.  Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.”
