What a mystery

Walking in the forest

A pond near by

I cannot help but walk towards it

My eyes are drawn to the water

A clear surface

I notice something so brilliant

I see a reflection of the trees behind me on the water surface

A mystery

 

Walking along the beach

Enjoying the breeze

The water and the blue sky seem to blend in together

Another wonderful reflection of color

A wonderful image

 

Man

Created in God’s image

Walking the earth

In desperate need of a savior

Only Jesus can save him

Only Jesus

God made flesh

The second Adam

The perfect Man

The Son of Man

The redeemed man now imitating his Savior

In whose very image he was made after

What a mystery

 

A Sanctuary in heaven

A place to worship the Most high

A tent in the desert

Moses a leader

Of a people going to the Promised Land

A people chosen by God

He loved them and wanted to dwell among them

^“Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.” He commanded Moses

A tent among tents

Filled with His light and glory

A replica of the sanctuary in heaven

What a marvelous thing

 

Zion

A dwelling place for the Most High

A city called Jerusalem

Torn apart by man’s desire to find the truth

“A place where all religions meet!” They keep saying

Mankind searching for His creator

Failing to see the cross and the risen Savior

Yet this is the place that God has chosen

A reflection of the New Jerusalem

Made with human stones

A place for God to dwell

What a mystery

 

A priest

To serve in God’s house

To lift God’s people before Him in prayer

To offer up sacrifices to Him

David, a king and a priest

A prototype of a King Priest to come

Jesus the King of kings

Jesus the High Priest

Lifting up in prayer before our God and Father

What a mystery

 

As it is in heaven

A son of promise

Awaited with much longing

A child is born unto us

A Son is given

Just as Abraham waited for Isaac the son of promise

So we rejoice that God’s Son has come

Our promised Messiah

A glorious thing

A mysterious thing

Oh Lord I may not understand all the patterns

Blessed be Your name for bringing Your kingdom here on earth

And saving the souls of men.
