Believe, believe, believe.

A child holding a parent’s hand

Crossing the street

A small tiny hand held by a strong bigger hand

Trust

Security

A child learning to ride a bike

“Go!” shouts dad

And off the child rides

Just because dad says so

Wobbly at first, then comes the inevitable thud

“You can do this.”

Wiping away the tears, the child mounts the bicycle again

Trust

A child lying in bed at night

Darkness seems to close in

The child tries to sinks into their mattress as deep as they can

Terrified of those monsters

“Mum!”

“I am here, it is going to be alright, go to sleep.”

The child drifts off slowly to sleep, “It has been a long day…and

mom is here anyway.”

Trust

Bitter medicine, painful shots

“Take it honey you will feel much better afterwards.”

Reluctantly the child swallows, it taste worse than expected

“But mom says to swallow….” the child contemplates, then swallows the medicine

Trust

“I guess…” and off the child walks into a classroom, they have never been before

Trust
