The first fruits
Our giving God
“Bring your first fruits to the house of the Lord your God”
“Bring also your tithes and offerings to the house of the Lord.”
“But Lord I don’t have enough!
I barely make it through the month with all this bills to pay
If I give, I will have less to live on!”
Consider the two brothers
Who brought their gift to God
Bring only the best
Because the Giver of all givers also weight hearts
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
Genisis 4:4-5 (NIV)
The greatest Giver of all givers
He brought His first fruits
The “crème de la crème”
He slowly unpacked His Gift
Silence
You could hear a pin drop
It was stunning
Lovely
Wonderful
The gift was perfect
For the gift was Himself
So when you bring your first fruits
Remember that it is to the Giver of all givers
And consider carefully
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
