If God give us a gift
If He would pack a gift and send it to a broken world
To a people so fallen yet so loved
So treasured yet so lost
A people made in His image yet enslaved
Slaves in a foreign land
Princes and princesses scrubbing floors
Eating the bread crumbs that fall from their master’s table
Treated like dirt
Addicted to stuff just to numb the pain
If God, in His mercy were to send a gift to such a world
What would it be?
The price to free them is blood
A lamb must be slain
A life for a life
The weights must be balanced
His people so fallen
Bound by a slave master who despises them
“Let My people go!”
“Never!”
“How much?”
“Your weights/law says blood!”
“Done!”
“Let My people go!”
Jesus
Thank you Father for Your gift to us
Freedom… what a high price
What a high price…

Isaiah 53:4 (ESV)
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
Beautiful words so well written about our God who is so gracious and benevolent. Great poem.
