Daddy’s Girl
She knows her daddy
She knows He would never hurt her
She knows that He would give His life for her
He already did
She has gone through a lot
Wandered in dry places
She was and always is daddy’s girl
He waited for her
He cried with her when she got hurt
He waited patiently for her to come to Him
Oh how He longed to comfort her!
But she never came; she struggled on her own and tried to be “strong”
Tried to “figure it out” on her own
“Lean not on your own understanding!” He tried to tell her
She was too hurt, too bruised maybe also too stubborn to hear His gentle voice
Poor girl but she was still His girl
Daddy’s girl
Then He saw her coming back home
Tears streaming down her cheeks
All those lost years
There were tears running down His cheek too
She is here!
I love her! My girl
She ran into His hands
All those years when everything seemed to go wrong
She was still His girl
Daddy’s girl

1 John 3:3 (NASB)
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
