Life is a little bit like taking a train ride. People come in and out of your life, they board and alight, one might say…
Some ride the train with you for a while, some ride along a little bit longer.
Yet at the end of the day all you want is to get to your destination or in my case, home.
Sometimes I get to sit next to a really cool person, sometimes I sit next to a “not so cool person” or they sit next to you…
Sometimes I will sit next to a well-dressed lady or gentleman. Occasionally, a drunkard or a drug addict might take a sit next to me.
It is always a surprise; will the person sitting next to me be well dressed and busy- looking? Or will they obnoxious and smelly? Will they be polite and pleasant? Will they be young or old?
Just yesterday, as I took the train home from work, I watched as people get in and off the train.
I watched as a young pretty lady got in the train and after a while, took off her phone and started checking out her make-up on selfie mode.
A hurried middle aged lady walked in and stumbled as she took the sit across mine. She was holding some sort of health drink, for some reason I get the feeling that she was stressed out about something… (I could be wrong).
Things change, next stop.
An old man got on to the train and sat opposite the pretty young lady. I instantly saw the displeasure on her face. Even more so when the old man, pulled out a sandwich from a paper bag and started eating it. She stared at him, and then looked away (irritated).
Things change, next stop.
The pretty lady, the old man and the middle aged lady all alights and a new set of passengers get on to the train. A group of four handy men (I could tell because they still had their work clothes on) filled the sits around mine. They started talking each other loudly in a foreign language loudly and this changes the whole atmosphere, somehow.
Things change, next stop.
The men alighted and a middle aged man took a sit across me, he was holding a beer and seemed drunk, he instantly closed his eyes…
Oh life.
I take this same train twice a day, to and from work. All these souls are precious. Each has a name, each, a story to tell. Words unsaid, and stories untold.
Jesus came for each one of them, Jesus came for each one of them.
John 3:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
What a great little story, Hope. Life is exactly like a train ride when you put it this way! Good post…

This made me tear up…it is SOOO true. I love that you notice each one of them and acknowledge that God loves EACH of them. Great post! ❤ 🙂

God rescued me and He can get them out too! Today a young lady sat next to me and I looked at her wrists for some reason, unfortunately I saw fresh scars… Razor cuts…I just thought, ” why? you are so beautiful.” I am praying for her, pray with me.

I am praying now for her. It is so sad when people don’t see a way out…

As you take the train twice a day and see all these faces, and you pray for them, they may be blessed through you! May you be the great instrument of Him. Thanks for the follow! Miriam
