The Bridegroom and His Bride
This relationship is one of purity and grace. It is the relationship between myself, a believer, and Jesus, my Savior. He pursues me; He draws me near to Himself. He never leaves or forsakes me. He walks with me every single day—good and bad—always there to help and encourage me. He gave His life for me. Such is the definition of true love.
The Groom and His bride—He found her and rescued her from bondage. He gave her a new identity and purpose. She is His garden; He cultivates, and she bears fruit. He is the Light of the world, and so is she when she is joined to Him. A love so deep, a blessed unity.
“My dove in the cleft of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountains,
show me your face.” Song of songs 2:14
“There is a place near Me where you may stand on a rock. When My glory
passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with My hand
until I have passed by.” —Exodus 33:21
This intimacy between the Groom and His bride grows over time. The Groom is fully committed to her; if she takes just one step toward Him, He takes a million steps toward her.
He has been waiting for her and wants her to know Him. Jesus is inviting us to come closer so that we may know Him.
