Space and Time
Acts 17:26-28 (NIV)
“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”
The human spirit is contained in time and in a space called the body, often referred to as a tent.
Job 4:21
“Is not their tent cord plucked up within them, so that when the tent falls, do they not die, and without acquiring wisdom?”
If the body is a curtain, a veil, or even a tent, it contains and shields us from the supernatural. This is a barrier. (When Christ’s body was torn, the curtain also tore.)
When we die, the barrier to eternity is removed—we go home to our Father, spirit to Spirit, dust to dust, just as it was in the beginning.
The body contains our spirit and soul (the decision-making center—this is also where we choose to follow Jesus).
These bodies are earthen vessels, carrying treasures.
2 Corinthians 4:7
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.”
We live in temporary dwellings and within time, where there are divinely appointed phases. Just as we experience changes in the weather, there are also distinct chapters in our lives.
Genesis 8:22
“As long as the earth exists, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will not cease.”
God determines and governs these appointed times.
Ecclesiastes 3:15
“Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.”
God allows the patterns of life to repeat. He sets the rhythm of existence; He chooses. Only God can break the cycles. The earth keeps turning—nothing is new under the sun. The pattern remains, but each person walks through it uniquely.
God is not confined by time. He owns everything, and in Him, we live, move, and exist. Time and SpaceIn the beginning, God created heaven and earth.
This is our space—welcome to my God-given portion. The spirit man is bound within these created dimensions.
Time is Introduced
Genesis 3:22
“And the LORD God said, ‘The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat and live forever.’”
From that moment, the spirit man became subject to the flow of time and the limitation of place. The Power of Testimony God’s faithfulness is seen through generations.
Across every era, our God remains steadfast. By His grace, people have made it through, even in the midst of repeating patterns and life’s cycles.
