In Search of Adam

“Adam, where are you?” This is the question God asked Adam after the fall—after he and Eve disobeyed God. The earth was no longer the perfect place it had been but because of what Jesus did on the cross, reconciliation with God is now possible for us.

Our journey with the Lord begins when we confess and invite Him into our hearts. God then begins His restoration work in us so that we may become like Jesus, His Son—the perfect Adam, the perfect man.

The beginning

In search of Adam. “Adam here you are?” This is the question God asked Adam after “the fall”. In comparison to the Father’s response during Jesus’ baptism. The Father’s response concerning Jesus was, “This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

What the Father had intended Adam to be, He saw in Jesus, whom Paul refers to as the Second Adam or the Last Adam.

Reconciliation

There are three steps to reconciliation: reconciliation with God, reconciliation with oneself, and, lastly, reconciliation with others.

We often try to be reconciled with others before we are reconciled with God and with ourselves.

The fact is, we cannot give what we do not have. We cannot forgive or show compassion if we have not received compassion.

Let us come to God and receive forgiveness so that we can forgive ourselves and extend forgiveness and compassion to others.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 ESV.

Dear Father, thank you that through Christ I am reconciled with you. Amen
