Five love letters from a soldier in world war 2.
His name is Charles. Charles was engaged to Becky.
Spoiler:
They never get married, when Charles came home from the war, Becky was already married to someone else as she had thought Charles was a fallen soldier.

Becky received only these five letters just before the war ended… By then she was already married to someone else.

Dear Becky,
I still remember the first day I saw you and the green dress you were wearing. I still remember how we went out to the park, laughing about the food served at those township dances. Yet, that all seems so far away now. As I sit here, covered in dirt, watching lives waste away for the cause of peace. I long for the day I can hold your hand again. Oh, how easy life was then—we were so young, so hopeful. Hold on to us my love.
