When the plot fails … and the truth prevails

Mathew 28.11-15 (ESV)

While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place.  And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

The good news they tried to conceal

Has now been preached to the ends of the world

It has spread like wildfire

This Gospel has been received with gladness

Millions have come to Christ

When the plots fail…

Wicked plans

Pretence and lies

When favours have been exchanged

Or even money has been exchanged

To smear the innocent

To destroy the righteous

Ruin their reputation

No that’s not enough

Kill them

Everything their ever stood for

One thing escapes the wicked’s minds

God sees

God hears

He says, “No.”

The plot fail

The righteous man is justified

  1. I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where comes my help.
My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer your foot to be moved: he that keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper: the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even for ever more.
