Light in the darkness.

Who will fight our battles?

Who will go before us?

Lest we make the same errors that were made in the past

Errors recorded for our benefit

Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel, and they said, “No, but there shall be a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” (1 Samuel 8:19-20 NASB)

Who will lead us?

In this but a short journey

Through a world so troubled

Each one of us given a light to hold high

To walk through the darkest of path

Declaring praises to our God

Sounding the trumpet

Even if the darkness seems to close in on us sometimes

So much injustice, so many lies, so many gray areas

A loud voice above all the noise is heard,

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16KJV)

We keep walking this walk of faith

Even when it seems as if our lights are dimming

Our God is going before us, He is fighting our battles

The just shall live by faith

  1. A beautiful poem…and so true! The Lord leads out before us and fights our battles for us. And the righteous shall prevail!

  2. We certainly are! For if Christ is with us, who can be against us? Blessings to you and yours as well…
